Chisage Inverters
Chisage is a manufacturer of PV-hybrid and battery inverters for residential and commercial applications. Their product line includes both single-phase (Jup series) and three-phase (Mars series) hybrid inverters, as well as grid-tie inverters. Chisage inverters support operation with both solar panels and battery storage.

Wiring
The SmartgridOne Controller and the Chisage inverters communicate via RS485.
RS485
To connect the Chisage inverter to RS485, use the D-B/485 port on the inverter. The specific pinout may vary, so consult the inverter's manual for the exact connections. A typical RS485 connection table is shown below:
- For correct RS485 wiring: Follow the guidelines for RS485 wiring.
- If the wiring shown in the table below is incorrect, please let us know.
- There is no general consensus in the industry about the usage of A and B for the RS485 polarity, so it may be counterintuitive and opposite of what you might expect for some devices.
| Device | SmartgridOne Controller model OM1 | SmartgridOne Controller model IG8 | RS485-USB converter | RS485-Ethernet converter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RS485 A | RS485 A | RS485_POS | RS485 A | TX+ |
| RS485 B | RS485 B | RS485_NEG | RS485 B | TX- |
| GND | RS GND | GND | Not available | G |

Configuration
The following steps provide a general overview of configuring Chisage inverters. Consult the specific user manual for your inverter model for detailed instructions and safety precautions.
- Initial Setup: Upon initial startup, configure essential system settings such as the grid standard, language, and time zone.
- Parameter Settings: Access the parameter setting menu, typically through the inverter's LCD touch screen or a dedicated mobile app. Navigate through the menu using the provided buttons or touch controls.
- Battery Settings: Configure battery parameters to match your battery type and specifications. This includes settings such as battery capacity, charging voltage limits, and discharging voltage limits.
- Grid Settings: Configure grid parameters to comply with local grid regulations. This includes settings such as voltage limits, frequency limits, and power factor.
- Smart Load Settings (if applicable): Configure settings related to smart load power, such as the conditions for enabling or disabling power to the smart load based on battery SOC or voltage.

- You MUST give each device on the RS485 bus a unique address. Check the manual of the device on how to do this.
- Use lower addresses first (1, 2, ...) because the SmartgridOne Controller will find them faster!
- For each device, it is generally recommended to stick with the factory default baud rate, parity, and stop bits. The SmartgridOne Controller will scan on those first.
